Being Thankful

The winner for this month is Mary Chen! Mary, please email me at kerry@kerrelynsparks.com, so I can get your mailing information. Many thanks for everyone who dropped by to comment.  It looks like we share a lot of our favorite authors!  It's an honor to be included among them. Thanks again for all your support, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Can you believe it's the end of November already?  Where did 2013 go?  This is the time of the year to be thankful and count our blessings, and I wanted you to know you are all blessings to me.  You keep buying

the books.  You spread the word to family and friends.  You continue to come here every month, or email me, or stop by Facebook, Goodreads, or Twitter to give me encouragement and support. I am thankful to you all!  To give thanks, I'm giving away my two latest releases.  One lucky winner will receive a signed copy of The Vampire with the Dragon Tattoo and my latest historical, Less than a Gentleman!

I am also thankful for other authors, who do so much more than entertain me. They amaze me and inspire me. I recently saw some of them in Dallas at the Buns and Roses event, and I asked them to sign the Autograph Keepsake booklet. This booklet has author photos and signatures from authors like Donna Grant, Darynda Jones, Lorraine Heath, Sophie Jordan, Cathy Mawell, myself, and others. A total of 22 autographs!!  So this month's winner will
receive the two books mentioned above, plus the Autograph Keepsake!

To enter, just leave a comment about which authors you are thankful for. The winner will be chosen at random. Please check back here in case you have won, and I'm trying to get in contact with you. International entries are welcome.  Happy Thanksgiving and wishing you a safe and happy holiday season!

HMMM authors i am most thankful for?
Tamora Pierce
Anne Bishop
KerrelynSparks
Ilona Andrews (actually a husband and wife team, that are quite good)
Sherrilyn Kenyon
Lynsay Sands
Mercedes Lackey
Richelle Mead
Patricia Briggs

And I actually especially am thankful for one author I don't even know the name of sadly.. Years when a teenager I was at a summer camp and one of the other girls in my tent loaned me the first vampire book I ever read after I had finished all the books I'd brought with me. Thanks to that author is why I ended up reading vampire novels, it has now been over 15 years of looking trying to find that book so that I could know the author and read other books by them but as of yet I have not been able to find it again.

These authors range from some of the first who got me into reading sci-fi and fantasy novels, which paved the path for me to end up reading paranormal/dark fantasy type novel. The above are also all authors who create amazing and wonderful stories with strong well rounded characters... And who has managed to create truly unique and inspiring words.

Wow, this is a tough one. I don't want to forget anyone.

Stephanie Myers because I started reading again. Michelle Leighton because she introduced me to so many unique characters. J R Ward she was my first adult vampire series. I could write pages of this.... Kerrelyn Sparks awesome story teller. Rachelle Cain, HM Ward, Connie Suttle, Lisa Renee Jones, Abbi Glines, There are so many more. These are some of them. I am thankful for all authors even the ones I haven't read yet. They allow me to escape from my stress and bring unconditional happiness. I love the time I escape into a new world. So I guess I should say thank you to all authors.

Hugs, Nicole

I absolutely love reading. A few of my favorite authors are: (in no special order) Kim Harrison, Kerrelyn Sparks, Patricia Briggs,J.R. Ward, Becca Fitzpatrick, P.C. & Kristin Cast, Richelle Mead, Alexandra Adornetto, and so many more. However, I have to say I'm thankful for all authors big and small. Writing is an amazing gift. If your story can suck me in and get me lost in it and forget things for even a little while then I am thankful.

I absolutely love the series of Karrylen Sparks...she is one of my idol authors. I love how they are very humors...actually a very rounded novel. When she actually responded to my emails, I was starstruck. I can only hope I can write half as well as she can, can only hope i can hit all the marks of a well rounded novel. She actually inspired me to pick up a pen again...and actually finish a story, she revitalized my dream of wanting to be published. I know we are supposed to write a comment, but I am not just doing this to be entered in a drawing, but to thank her, something I have been meaning to do. Keep writing, keep inspiring please. Thank you.

This time last year, I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off between home and hospitals and a nursing home. My grandma who had been my mother since I was 4 months old, was ill as a result of a stomach tube. I never thought that last year in a nursing home is where she'd be spending the last Thanksgiving with just me and the E! Channel. My book were what helped me make it through. I'm so thankful to all the Love At Stake guys and gals. Gregori and Shanna kept me from killing people in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Angus and Emma kept me wishing there was a Highland man so I could pray for a breeze(Wink wink). When January came, and things were about as dire as they could get, Ian and Robby kept me laughing while Olivia and Toni gave me that literary shoulder to cry on. When she died, to cope with those nights I could not sleep, Gregori was there with his stress balls while Carlos was stalking Caitlyn. What kept me going through the summer while we had to move into the house where I grew up in was Dougal's story and it was well worth the wait. Other authors who lent me distraction and a few chuckles were Sherrilyn Kenyon(Okay, not so many chuckles but it took my mind off just how bad things were), Alexandra Ivy-who most definitely kept me laughing, Marie Hall who kept my love of all things Neverland right next to Wonderland, and Karen Marie Moning because well I got a thing for Highlanders, didn't I mention that? Plus, there's Jericho Barrons-can't say much else after that, can I? All of you were there for me with your stories when I needed them and all of you inspire me to be a better writer. For that I am Thankful beyond measure.
