New Release Giveaway and ComicCon

Thanks for playing all! Using the handy dandy randomizer my winners are Heather and Jolene. Please email me at my website, juliana@julianastone.com with your deets and I'll get those books in the mail this week! You guys all rock! Make sure to visit my blog at www.julianastone.com for an uber awesome contest, 15 Days to Embrace the Darkside. chances to win cool books every day until His Darkest Embrace releases on October 26th!

Hey Everyone! First off, a belated happy birthday to Jocelynn. Weird thing? I blog on the 9th every month and that is my birthday number too!

I'm in New York City right now. Came in for ComicCon to participate on a panel moderated by Jeaniene Frost, with fellow Supernatural ladies, Pamela Palmer, Jocelynn Drake, we had Marjorie M. Liu and Margaret Ronald. It was so much fun!

We signed afterward and it was very cool to meet so many new people! I had one dude bring a copy of my first book to get signed for his wife...thought that was so sweet! He got a signed copy of my newest, which doesn't hit the shelves for 2 weeks. I assured him he was going to score major points with his wife!

It was a lot of fun to meet some of these other authors for the first time and to get to know Jocelynn more. That lady has a great sense of humour!

So now I'm heading home. It's our Thanksgiving weekend in Canuk land and really, I've got loads to be thankful for! I can't list them because this post would be way too long!

In honour of my second release, His Darkest Embrace, I am going to give away 2 sets of signed copies of His Darkest Hunger and His Darkest Embrace. You can read about them Here. I was lucky enough to score a few extra copies of Embrace so the winners just might get their hands on it before release date of the 26th!

Our panel was entitled 'fighting like cats and dogs' and we basically discussed the differences between the shifters. I am partial to cats of course, Jocelynn loves her wolves.....In order to be entered into this contest, tell me, what do YOU like and why? What is so cool about wolves or sexy about cats? I know why I love my jaguars now I want to hear what you like!

Sound cool? I'll keep this open til Sunday night! That's when I kick off the start of my contest over at my blog, 15 Days to Embrace the Darkside. I've got a great many authors participating, including, Sophie Jordan, Jeaniene Frost, Pamela Palmer, Anya Bast and Elisabeth Naughton. You can read about the deets HERE.

Weeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Cat or dog? Now, that question depends on a lot of factors. The season of the year, the phase of the moon, the mood I am in... If you asked me that last year, I would have told you wolves, most definitely... because I was on my "wolf shifter phase" then. Now I think I'm into dragons... so cats or dogs? How about dragons?? Anyway, I think both shifters are makers of good reads... what makes the difference is that story telling quality... the author's "voice" is more important to me than choosing cats or dogs... so.... how about dragons? ;)

That is a tough one. :D I love both but if I have to chose I would go with wolf, because wolfs match my personality and style way more than cats. Cats remind me of sexy, confident, I know what I want women; soso not me. Thanks for the Contest :)!

Happy Thanksgiving!
I love wolves as much as the next girl, but cats are what really do it for me. When I think of a cat I think sleek, lean, long, powerful. Translate that into a man that turns into a cat and...great now I'm drooling. :)

Wolves for me! Cats can be sexy, but they are very selfish. Wolves are loyal, cats not. >_<

Thank you for this chance! :D

Hmmm ... while I love cats and have always imagined werewolves to be very sweaty and stinky (sheesh, imagine the stench when a pack gets caught in the rain :o), there's just something so ALPHA about them that appeals to me! Cats are slinky and stealthy, weres are ALL THERE! They're in the moment, fight for what they believe in, love with a passionate hunger ... yeah, it will have to be a wolfboy for me ;D

I have to say I love them both! There are certain aspects of the wolves and the big cats that are just yummy!

Cats or Dogs.... that's a toughie because both (dare I say it) are so cute and cuddly! (LMAO the shifters are going to come get me now >.>) Seriously though, both are great. Cat shifters are sleek and elegant but Dog shifters are loyal and just as beautiful as a cat shifter.

I honestly don't think I can answer, both rock. (and are cute and cuddly *evil laughter*)

Cats are sexier and do what they want. Why be loyal wolves and be bound by obligations?

Dogs -- or wolves -- are so obvious. I don't know what it is, but they're right out there with their themness (I can't think of the word). Cats, on the other hand, just seem so mysterious and powerful. They're subtle. You're never quite sure what they might do. So ... cats!

I´m more into cats. They seem to be more sensual and sexy, but of course wolves aren´t bad either :-)

I just fell in love with the cats from Nalini Singh´s books, so my opinion is kind of prejudiced. I will always stick to the cats, no matter how wonderful the wolves may be ;-)

It's hard to choose between them, but I think cats win out for me. I think they're more independent, free spirited, dangerous and sexy than wolves.

For me I have to say wolves, I love cats but I just think wolves are edgier and nothing like a sexy growl!!!

Pigs! I would love to read a book about werepigs or shifters that turn into pigs!
Pigs are the coolest animals there are and they're very intelligent too.

But truth be told I like any shifter story as long as it's well written.

Well, you know what they say; Cat's rule and dogs drool!
*Now I'm going to duck before the dog people start throwing stuff* LOL

I like both really but if I had to pick I'm more of a cat person. They are sleek, sexy, graceful and totally have a mind of their own.
My black kitten, Bones, just jumped on my lap. He must of known what we were talking about. Now he's trying to type his own response, hehe. I wonder if having six toes help in typing. LoL

I like both, but i think wolves are cooler and prettier.

I like them both for different reasons. The wolves for theirloyalty and the cats for their grace :D

I love shifter stories, and it's hard to pick a favorite from the big cats or wolves. Since it was a wolf storyline that first got me hooked on the genre, they edge my vote just a hair, lol.

Something about the animal characteristic blended with human wants and needs is just fascinating, and most times wildly imaginative.

Plus shifter heroes and heroines tend to be rebels, so they already have that whole badass thing going, then add the beast elements and you have some truly memorable characters.

And for added entertainment, you've got their sexual chemistry/mate bond scenarios, definitely what I consider an added treat.

I just love me some shifters! All shifters and in any forms. They are all hot!!! I like me some strong alpha-male characters and I find that shifters always fit that category. Shifters are so strong minded and opionated.

Hi,
That's hard for Cats are sleek, quick and sexy..But Wolves are also fast and sexy but have that dangerous side that seems to be irresistible..So I would choose Wolves..

I love shifter stories, but I will pick up a cat shifter book first.

Something about cats - sleek, and graceful. Their independence.

Loved your first book & am counting down until the 2nd!

Cats can be sleek, powerful, and graceful and can turn dangerous on a whim.

I love cats. They're so elegant, but still have force. Some of them almost seem to float when they pounce, but they can still be lethal.

I love the cat shifters because I love their dangerous beauty. They're sleek and beautiful creatures but deadly at the same time.

I like wolf shifters more because they have packs and family groups. Cats, except for lions, are solitary animals. There's more going on in a pack situation, not that I don't enjoy reading about solitary shifters.

I am an animal lover, so I love all animals. Cats are great and the big ones such as leopards, jaguars, lions, tigers are really fantastic but I have the problem of being allergic to cats !.

So I have always had and always will have dogs at home.

Therefoir I have to be fair to my doggie friends and say they get my vote.

Thanks for the giveaway.

I love all types of shifers, but it does depend on the voice of the author. I love both cats and dogs and I read books with those types of shifers about the same amount. The quality of the story matters more to me than the shifter type, but I love shifter books that captures my imagination.

I love them both! I think wolves are more pack oriented while cats are individualists, but they both work really well in a novel.

i'm more into Cats ! they have their own style, tame, and sometimes WILD :)

Cats, no question. I love the mix of feline cunning, lethal agility and almost otherworldly grace pounded in the individuality of personality they hold. Intelligence too.

Besides, my eleven or so cats may opt to stalk me if I side with the wolves. Couldn't say I'd blame them. ;-)

Well, I'm not sure if I like cats or dogs better. Thought about flipping a coin and the winner got my vote, but it seemed a little unfair to me. So, instead, I'm going with, it really depends on the story I'm reading at the time and the author's ability to bring their favored creature to life. Give me a great book and I'll vote for your team...until the next good book steals me away. ~L

I love both wolves, cats and other shifters and I love to read about them I can not get enough:-)
The most important thing for me is that the story I read "speaks" to me and gives me something I can take with me when I close the book and that the characters are believable.

You definately have me intrigued! I feel like I can't really give any comparison since I have yet to read a shifter book with a cat (jaguar) Most of the ones I have read have been wolf's. I guess those are the norm and really big right now, but now that you mentioned It, I would love to read of a shifter outside wolf form and the jaguar sounds like it could bring more diversity. I know all about wolf shifters, but nothing about jaguars. I would love to win your books, but am sure if I don't you now have my curiosity piqued and will need to go out and find your books. Thanks for the opportunity
